Maybe nice for the occasional gardener or apt balcony but really not heavy duty enough for daily use. imho

I was just thinking about buying one....I have to clean out the hot tub and I HATE lugging our hoses all around the house.

Right.
I know they are not supposed to be heavy duty, that is what we already have and why I am asking. It is dang hot outside, danggggggg hot and if I had a lighter hose vs the big reel I may opt for using it more often.
Anyone who has used one, I appreciate your feedback.

Honestly, I would not worry too much about what people think. If it fulfills a purpose, what is $25 or whatever?
ebay has one for $13 bucks, free shipping. "Tangle-Free 25Ft Expandable Garden Hose" (sorry, IE not allow me to cut-paste)
You can also get them at places like Lowes or HD, probably Walmart, etc.
Buy it and use it. If defective, return it.

In that case, don't even buy it. I have never heard someone rave about them. But if it's a garden consider getting a soaker hose to lay there and a quick coupler. So you don't have to do the watering by standing there.

I bought a 50 foot hose 2 weeks ago because I could not lug the commercial, heavy duty hose that DH favors around the veggie garden. I love it...love, love, love it! I paid $9.99-25% (old folks discount) at the close-out box store.
I don't care if it only lasts one season...it's worth it! Go for it.

Saw them at B B &B cheaper and if you have a coupon it would be even cheaper!

I didn't buy one because majority of my neighbors who bought one said the hose failed quickly. I only have one elderly neighbor who likes it, because it is indeed very lightweight and easy to store.

Thank you!

We bought one... Didn't last. Ended up getting a couple holes in it and I don't think the pressure was as good. We use our hoses a lot though for hanging baskets, garden, etc.

Buying a lightweight hose on the sly...too funny! Only innkeepers...
Minor sidetrack alert - Please tell your outdoor innkeeper for me what a good job he does. Your place is always so lovely and well cared for. I have been doing all the outside work for both of these houses (per usual). Have just bought a bunch of stuff (finally) this Spring to plant where we had lost things when the grand tree fell on the house and side yard and am still waiting on help to dig the larger holes to get those plants in the ground. It's all part of a big push to make these places have top notch curb appeal.
When I had the biz and lost the guy who did the yard work, I have no idea how I got everything done until I could hire someone else. I guess I just did it!
You two are a great team! :)

My wife swears by these collapsable hoses. The standard heavy duty ones are too heavy for her to lug around.
