Please note: The owner requests that there are no personal offline e-mails regarding this contest. That includes any innmate that knows the owner. Also, no questions regarding this Essay Contest will be answered here on the forum by the owner. It is necessary for the owner to be "incommunicado" for the duration of this promotion.

This is very exciting! But please lets not contact this innkeeper. They are not able to discuss this contest with anyone. She left the forum for the time being due to this.
Lets wish them the best here, I am sure she will peak.

I participated in one of these contests many years ago for an inn in Maine. I just KNEW I would win! But of course I didn't. I guess I've been pulled toward innkeeping for longer than I'd remembered.
Best of luck on the contest. It is a great idea!!!!!

My sister was one of 4 finalists for a New England B&B, sponsored by a food company. Unfortunately...

Am so excited for them. I really think people are on to something by listing their business this way. Best of luck to them and will definitely miss the posts on the forum.

Would you all like to help?
Please share this link. Let the world know about this wonderful offer.
And again, please do not contact them for any info as they are not able to share anything until after the contest is over.

Sharing link and wishing the present owner all the best. What a great DEAL for the winner...turnkey established B+B with great income potential!

I know we can't contact the owners but I'm confused. If you win you only pay $150 to own that gorgeous house? What a deal! I'm trying to post on Facebook but FB doesn't always care to have me post and locks me out a couple of times/day. I'll try again tomorrow.
I guess I wasn't thinking it all the way thru. It really is a great deal for the winner!
This might be the way to go if you're very busy and don't want the lookie lous wandering thru with their dreams but no money. You pays your money and you takes your chances.

Yes. But everybody who enters the contest pays $150, and only the essay contest winner gets a prize (the house and the business).
As I read the rules, if the owners don't get enough entries in the contest to meet their minimum asking price, the contest is cancelled and everybody gets their money back (less the cost of postage to send it to them). The the owner is pretty much just risking their promotion expenses for the contest and all the time it takes to set it up and run the contest.
