I know we all like to moan (oops, I mean vent) here, so it's time to spread some love instead.
Monday night someone phoned and wanted a room for Tues night, 1 left. I told him the price and he asked if he could get some last minute discount. Had an empty room for the two previous nights and no calls or knocks, so I (unusually) said yes, (don't worry I'm ok now). Rather than pay a deposit he told me to charge the whole amount to his card.
Tuesday they arrive, really nice couple, show them to their room, leave them to it.
20 mins later he came down stairs and said he wanted to pay me the discount on the room, he said the room was so lovely he felt guilty knocking me down. He insisted.
Made me smile for the rest of the day.
