Anyone else ever get reservation requests thru Yelp? We get maybe one review/year on there so I ignore it. They send an email every week with weekly stats. This week's email showed there was a message. Someone used Yelp to ask if we had rooms for 4 nights for 2 couples. Who would even think to ask Yelp if we had rooms? Obviously they think we GET the request directly. So, I didn't have the rooms but it's annoying to know someone might have waited for a response.

I think it is a "come-on". My stats say someone looked at my site during the date span they give and then when I look at what they say was the activity, there was no such thing. And my Stats program agrees with me. I just looked and it lists referrers that sent only 3 in the last 40 weeks and although Yelp told me they sent 5, they were not listed.

I've never gotten a message for rooms on Yelp. I do get a lot of comments from guests that say they saw us on Yelp. I think it's fine as a review site, but it's not something I spend any amount of time or money on. Their paid ads are ridiculously expensive and their reps are like pitbulls. Don't even start a conversation with them when they call.

They gave up on me with this message on my machine, "Hi, this is Melissa. Again. I've emailed and left several messages. I guess you don't need any business."

Nope, haven't heard of reservations or messages through Yelp.

I think K is right about their stat emails, they never have matched my stats.
Knock on wood, Ben may have given up on speaking with me about getting me some business. His messages say it is all free but I have never had a sells caller be such a hounddog just to help me with my 'free' listing.
