Need a little advice and/or ideas....
Okay, so I have my own domain, my own website etc.
But I also managed to buy a few other domains...
Let's say that my neighbourhood in Gotham is calledGrubston... so I bought a few related domains....
StayInGrubston
BnBsInGrubston
BBGrubston
BnBsInGrubstonGotham
BnBsInGotham
So obviously, these don't describe JUST me, but I would definitely be listed.
So, do I make websites that talk about the neighbourhood but point at me as the best place to stay? Do I contact other B&Bs in the area and ask them if they want to participate on the page for a small fee? Or do I just redirect that domain to mine? What do you think?

I wouldn't waste time creating a website for each. But I am not a developer nor SEO expert. I will let others weigh in.
Personally, I would never do a search for bnbsinXXXX.
I always just search goo gl e on: xxxxx(city) bed and breakfast, or bb in xxx or B & B in XXX.
I would never use "bnb". But maybe others would...just not me.
I am not sure they would even be good canidates for redirects. But if you have them and want to use them, go ahead and try to see if you get any catches.

We have one that we have made a little different to our own site. It gets some traffic but not as much as we had thought.

A friend of ours developed a 2nd website for his museum but instead of a redirect or similar content he opted to make it a tourism based site where his museum got all the publicity on the side bar. That site has really driven business to him.

'bnb' might work now with the proliferation of air. Maybe others will start searching for 'bnb' thinking that's the spelling of B&B.

I actually wrote BnB but it's just a representative domain name... they aren't necessarily in English ;)

We're such a literate literal group here, you have to speak plain.

I am under the impression that this strategy no longer has much value, something i read recently.

Essentially, unless you're willing to devote the time to a full-sized community site that skews toward you, you're better off not worrying about it. Google won't rank the site highly unless you've got constantly-changing, high-quality content about the subject.
If you think someone will type the name of your site in verbatim, then keep the domain and autoforward it to your real site. Otherwise, it's not worth paying each year to keep it up.
Our PO's had a ton of these sites, but over the past 2 years we've whittled them down significantly without any decrease in our own site traffic.

I bought a domain and made our new website before we closed on the B&B. When we got ownership of the two domains, I just redirected them to the one that I made. Much easier to work with just one website. Easy to do through your host. IMHO, of course.
