I am so hot yes it is a very hot night still sitting at 35 C . then guest arrive at 830 when they were to be here 4 to 6 . Ok but they brought a another body with them . there son tall blond blue eyes...umm not to bad to look at. ok I got off the track .
They say it is ok he just sleep on the floor with his sleeping bag !!!!OH no he been sleeping a round for the past 4 months traveling Toronto and across Canada. out side in youth hostel Yikes I am freaking out. So to make a long story short he put his sleeping bad on the chesterfield Ok I thinking to myself it going to be ok isn't it??? Then
go down to next suite to set up for breakfast. Holy mackerel. She has done her washing in our suite after we told her no washing here we would show you where the laundry shop is, Ok she said , But she never came up. So I go down at 9.. Oh my she has their Bick clothes soaking wet hanging on our wall unite dripping on our thick carpet.......I thought I would blow a FUSE. there IS A SIGN CLEARLY SAYING DO NOT DO YOUR LANDURY HERE. please. plus I TOLD HER NO WASHING HERE. opps sorry not yelling just finger hit wrong keys sorry! Man I just whipped the clothing off the wall unite and put it out side. I said I am sorry but I said no laundry here. Then went about setting up the dinning room. I did not even look at the bathroom I bet they have it hanging every where. I think I am going to ask them to leave tomorrow . I don't need some so bluntly doing what they want to do and not even say sorry.
I will see how I feel about in the morning. Maybe it is just two incidents at one time and hot weather made me angry under the collar.

See this is why I do do laundry - would rather do it than have wet stuff dripping all over my rooms, walls and carpets which is what I know they will do as there is no laundrette within 2 miles of me.

Whew! Time for a deep breath. Is there a language barrier? I have my fingers crossed it will sort itself out.

We've had that happen here even after pointing out the laundry. It was one of two things - in their country they don't use clothes drying machines or they were too cheap to pay for the dryer.
The clothes were laid out on the woodwork (almost ruined from the water soaking in) and hanging from the sprinkler system. The clothes were on the bedposts and door knobs. What a mess they made.
Vacuum the sofa very well once they're gone. Ditto the carpet. Throw out the vacuum bag. Wash everything you can in hot water, dry on high heat. That should help you feel better about the possible bugs.

ugh ... yes ... the heat will definitely wear you down and I am so sorry ...... but is also how the professionals come in and kill off visiting bugs. I guess it's too late to offer some kind of cot of your own to replace the sleeping bag.
I don't think people understand the damage that wet clothes does to woodwork. My sister's FAMILY does this - I keep yanking wet towels off the wooden chairs and when I try to explain what they are doing to the furniture I get blank looks or am accused of being anal. Fine, ruin your furniture. No one listens to me and they are family.

Rub mayo into the wood if it leaves "wet spots". Sounds gross but it works. It removes the white marks. Rub it in until the wood refuse to accept any more. Wipe off with paper towels and polish the spot as usual. Floors, walls, furniture, etc. The worst was when they left their towels on the king bed's foot railing. After 4 rounds of mayo with me almost in tears the bed rail is as good as new.

Sergent dog shampoo kills any kind of bug. It has an orange scented one which smells wonderful! (lice, flea, ticks, etc.)

Thank you all. I have read this and I am sitting here thinking.
To answerer some questions. The first couple are in their 40 s They are Swiss have a good understanding Of English. She or he just did not want to bike to the laundry. It is only 7 mins away from here by car less. But they are on a biking holiday. She knew there was no washing of cloths here. I made that very clear from the start go. Also at the sink in the kitchen is a sign also saying Please do not do your laundry here. In the book it said do not do laundry here . We would be happy to show you where the laundry mat is OR we would be happy to drop your laundry at xyz for you.
For us to do laundry service it puts a strain on our septic system. It is all we can do if we have both suites leave in one day. You see this is just a house not one that was built to be An Inn or small hotel.
We try and make sure that does not happen.
For the other couple in the other suite I will try and do some damage control this morning. Ok I am going to finish my coffee and start the day. Thanks all For listening I appreciate it

Probably not a bad idea to waterproof/seal wood furniture and railings (as possible) with some kind of varnish, etc...

I am so sorry you had 2 sets of space aliens (they must be to not understand English - even in Finland they understand English) land at your lovely B & B at the same time. Dealing with one or the other would be trying enough - but both? UGH! I would probably have gone ballistic if I found that wet mess in my house. The third person? I know that as much as I would bitch about it, I would put up the cot and be counting the minutes until they left. As for the laundry - so sorry but you are leaving, NOW! (after you collect your money from them)

Ours WAS sealed. You put soaking wet clothes on even sealed wood overnight and it's going to do damage.

When we were first starting out here we had a couple in the suite with a very nice mahogany piano. One of them used the music stand on the piano to hold her canvas and spattered paint all over the wood. They rushed out without saying goodbye or having breakfast so we figured something was amiss. They had soaking wet newspaper all over the surface of the piano, apparently trying to soak of the paint but in the process wrecking the perfect finish on the piano.
Wahhhhhh, I cried at the damage. DH managed to work all day and got it cleaned up but it has never looked the same. Sometimes even a hard oil-based finish is not enough to prevent damage from wet objects. You can cover every horizontal surface with glass, but chair backs and canopies are impossible to protect. And then there are wooden, painted doors. Why do people hang wet towels over a door, ruining the paint job, when there are towel hooks and bars all over the place? Geeesh!

Oh Flower...so sorry to hear of your trials with these disrespectful people! Get them out as soon as possible....once they are gone you can regain your sanity. And perhaps think about getting AC for one room in the owner's quarters so you will have one little place to cool down before dealing with problems. It is really worth it!

Sorry Flower. Both rooms are being disrespectful to you and your property. Dealing with them in the heat makes matters worse.
Hope both will be gone very soon.

UGH! I feel for you. Lots of younger kids in our place and it's not our normal crowd. One room smelled of beer all weekend. Thankfully it was their clothes and it left with them. If only the deposit on cans was actually $1 a can!

Sheesh, people are getting to be really awful.
So, did you kick them out? They certainly deserved to be.

No I didn't shame on me. I should of listen to my gut. The next day at night I came down and low and behold there she had done more laundry and hung it up out of sight for the most part. Few things out side draped over the metal chairs I seeing that thought I was ok not happy but a least it was not hanging on furniture or over deep carpeting. But when they left I was in the walk in closet to get the house coats and darn it any way she hung them up in the closet as the rug was wet not soaking but wet. I was angry at myself for not throwing them out the first time. I guess I go back to being a witch!!!
The other couple left today man they were a hungry three. I never gone through so many eggs and bacon in 16 years. But the bottom line was when I went to strip beds low and behold the young man had used some kind of stuff that stripped the colour out of the pillow cases, GRRR
So now I am writing the travel agency and telling them all. I hope they will give me the email addy so I can write them and ask for full payment for the new sheets they are going to buy. I hope they enjoy our grey sheets with light pink blotches all over the pillow case. Man what a mess I am sending the travel agency the pictures. And telling them how he showed up with elder son in tote.
Yes he did pay me an extra 50 for staying here but his new sheets that he will own will cost him far more. The brat ( son or father) did not even say any thing when they were leaving. That made me rather hot under the collar. Not a word not even sorry . So for that he is being charged for a new set of sheets. I hope he enjoys our old ones . blotches and all.

I have to wonder how much laundry someone on a short trip has to do. I am baffled
As for the ruined sheets, you don't have the guest's mailing address and other particulars?

Done it twice and trying to hide it! I would have been seriously tempted to re-hide it!
