Four poster bed

I have the chance to buy a four poster bed a dark oak carved one. Im thinking of doing a harry potter themed room , tastefully doen. Would this be good for renting or too restricting. Im 5 mins form harry potter world in Watford. thank you for your advice. This is all new xx

Hello - there is a B&B - I forget where that have done the whole place Harry potter which would be a good template for you as its not "too" much - would be fine for any normal couple as well - will try and find the name/link for you.

Usually new folks introduce themselves. In any event, welcome to the forum. Themed rooms are popular so it sounds like your Harry Potter room would work out.

The Georgian House Hotel London - does Harry potter themed rooms - worth a look for ideas.

Also Ebay, Amazon and Etsy.com have lots of super Harry potter type items for decorating on a budget or just getting hold of weird stuff.
Plus id take a look at the prices!

welcome. I think it would be great fun. Wondering if you have to get permission from anywhere to call it a Harry Potter room or a Hogwarts room or if you can just do it. I know lots of adults who love the series. I hope you share pictures.

Sure, some guests love four poster beds. They don't have to be decked out with curtains but if you've got the space for such a bed they look amazing in a room.

Yes this is based in the US but we have innkeepers here from all around the world but the majority are from US.

Mostly, but there are one or two of us outside the US. And many of the issues we face are the same.

As someone with 2 four poster beds and a Half tester bed - (flying canopy) - we do get requests for them - or the occasionally requests not to have them.
Also if you are looking for a UK forum www.bedposts.org.uk may be helpful and also gives you free advertising and is free to join - it is however a closed forum ie B&B owners only and the public can't see it.
It is handy for all the legislation stuff they are constantly changing.

Where do you buy canopies? I have a canopy bed with sheers draped on the posts. I would love to find a canopy that doesn't cost $$$$.
