Replaced Hedges today

Finally figured out I will never have the wherewithal to get the fence I wanted. We have been talking about getting blueberry bushes for more than a few years. Today the driving force behind our Community Garden came over to help me plant (he planted) 6 blueberry bushes and 9 blackberry plants. He said they will fill in and make a solid wall for me in just a couple years. The beauty of them is some will ripen in June, some in July, and some in August, In about 3 years, I will have berries all summer - probably just in time to sell the place.
I am so blessed to have someone like him to plant them. Next Fall he will come show me how to prune them.. (Will just have to keep the lawn guy from weed whacking the blackberries.)

My family bought like twenty strawberry plants and moved within nine months of planting them.... We let one plant produce fruit so we got to eat some. We had been trying to sell the place for like ten years on and off.

Blueberries sound wonderful. Blackberries are a noxious weed in this neck of the woods. But a very tasty weed.

Good luck, the birds will usually get them before you do unless you can protect them
