This is for people who want to go into business together, etc with two innkeepers' apartments!

I have never been IN it but it IS in a great area. They mention the possibility of a 7th room. If they do not have a commercial kitchen a;ready, be aware that if you have that 7th room in WV, you MUST have a commercial kitchen and other than that I do not know the rules - I know 6 rooms or less. They are members of WVBBA so I can tell you they have been inspected by the Association which is not a just a glance inspection.
It is in a great location at the vase of Snowshoe which has become a 4-season resort. It is near the Cass Scenic Railroad and Green Bank - the radio telescope. Cell service is possible but iffy. In a word - it has location, Location, LOCATION. The owners, if they are the ones I think they are, have had it for quite a while. It is definitely a place to consider.

UH OH..one of those "open kitchens" Morticia has so much trouble with.

I did not get the impression of an "open kitchen". Chairs are different in the kitchen photo than the dining are photo.
.
If you look at the website, you will see it is all one large OPEN Area. There is a big table in the kitchen and it is open to the dining area. Though the possibility of closing that in is really good. Just throw up some studs and dry wall and it could be an enclosed kitchen.

My first impression was that the listing was kind of coded: Although we are permitted for 6 rooms....it would be really easy to offer more as long as you stay undercover about it.

Imagine my surprise to find out some folks here were doing just that! Advertise x number of rooms and sell x+1 or x+2.

There was a B&B here that did that. She was well under the ADA threshold regardless, but what she was doing was to stay under some local threshold requirements.

And all it takes is one pissed off neighbor (or guest) to land in the deepest doo-doo. I prefer to stay legal.

It never occurred to me to get a license for a certain number of rooms and actually let out more. Now I know why guests would sometimes insist (don't you have one other room?) when I'd say we were full. Countered with, 'are you sure?' I agree Gillumhouse ...

We are actually licensed for more units than we are renting out (at the moment)...
