Cambs introduced me to the BedPosts Forum which I joined over a year ago. I also joined their Club (hope it brings some UK guests with my listing). They have an on-going about bdotcom also. This was posted today and since some had had a problem with a cancel being made available (and timing issues with it) I thought this tidbit from this morning might help. You can thank Paul Andrew of Mil lers Beck for this.
we can request to have auto replenish turned off. no problem I was told, it is done for you.
great I thought when the next cancellation came in. I didn't rush to look at the extranet -- but I should, as the room had been opened automatically.
several ridiculous conversations later it would seem that even when auto replenish is turned off it will still open rooms up after a cancellation IF the room shows as yellow square with red exclamation mark on the availability grid. i.e. sold out room. it wont open the room if red i.e. closed.
why would a room which I had sold and closed, open up at any time as I was the one to close it and b.con didn't know anything about the booking or cancellation. they really couldn't grasp the issue and just kept repeating that if a cancellation came in they didn't want us to lose out so opened the room for resale.
the upshot is, if you want control over what happens when a room is cancelled. (probs occur for us when 2 night stays are involved etc) ask b.con to turn OFF auto replenish but when you use the availability grids click on all yellow boxes and turn them red. by doing that the room will stay closed until you choose to open it again.
