New washer delivered on time and not dented. New washer works. Dryer died. Right after new washer delivered. Old washer died on Thursday. (You know us, dead is dead. No hope.)
Guest cancelled 2 night stay for tonight and tomorrow. Did not seem to grasp that she owed $400. Am taking one nighters just to fill up.
Yippee! We filed tonight and possibly tomorrow. Guests show up with toddler in tow. "No one ever questions this anywhere else. We don't even mention her when we make reservations."
I explain we'll do tonight but cannot extend stay. Guest confused. More confused by charge for extra person. So confused they keep explaining they're visiting a friend who's a cop.
Breakfast already planned for 14, now there are 15.
But no dietary issues. So far everyone is happy.

Our dryer died three weeks ago... If we don't get a new one soon I think we will burn the second one out as well. The nice thing is it waited until we weren't so busy.

Same here... so they offered their reservation to their married child. So they are here instead.

"So nice of you to visit your cop friend. It is still $xxx for your unannounced child unless one of you plans to stay at the cop's home."
They aren't confused if they are mentioning the friend being a cop trying to make you back down. Why state what the friend does for a living?

Yahoo! Glad to hear that!

had group of 7 ladies in for the races yesterday - have been a bit worried as don't like groups, don't like races people as they are encouraged to drink a great deal and tend to operate like stag / hen parties (ie pre wedding groups). Had 2 couples here for a wedding a very expensive local venue - rang day before to confirm and to confirm their early check in at 12 - they never turned up till 2pm so complete waste of my time especially when they were only coming from half an hour away. Then the idiots left their room keys in the car at the venue when they came back in the taxi - older couple about 70 plus wife about half cut but husband was barely functional. 2 of the race ladies were sat in lounge at 1.15am when they came back and started tapping on the door to get in - they didn't know what to do as obviously didn't know who there were so rang down to me - so i had to get them up, get spare keys then nearly hoist husband up to room - wife was all like let him sleep there the idiot, but wasn't having that if he woke up in the night to throw up or have a pee! no toilet in the lounge - am dreading a potential wet bed this morning - am livid!

Must be that time of year, our dishwashers didn't die but was seriously ill for 2 weeks until the repair man could come to call. All better now, thank heavens, couldn't face any more full mornings washing up by hand.
Any child that doesn't count as a person, by the sound of it.

Have them ask the cop if a missing child doesn't count as a person.

Now waiting for them to miss check out as they missed breakfast. How do you not feed a small child? Maybe they brought snacks. Too stressful.

Poor Mort.
Almost like they're trying to push your buttons.
Keep smiling

A day in the life!
Ours were more positive. Tho our dryer did die during the week. Housekeeper took the laudry to the Laundromat while DH called the place we did our kitchen through and they recognized us as a good customer and delivered a floor model same day. Sight unseen but it works so we're happy.
Had three separate couples here all from Australia. They were not together, just a coincidence!
Also had a couple of young men who raved about our 'welcome cookies.' I told DH to make extra bacon for the next day. Young men tend to eat more than their share of the bacon.
Mostly had a great weekend. I am at the office today. Wish I weren't.

I would also be stressed if a borderline difficult group was missing breakfast. And also if I was worried about a child not being fed. People are weird.
