We found some old cookbooks stashed in a corner of our linen shed, including Marion Harris Neil's "Economical Cookery" dating from 1918, and "Aunt Priscilla in the Kitchen" from 1929.
You all might enjoy what Aunt Priscilla has to say about Breakfast in her Forward (if you can read it in this image):

And here is the title page for "Economical Cookery" -- with illustrations from photographs, no less!

I have a recipe book of salads from a hotel of that era. I've actually used a couple of the recipes. Love the old illustrations, what a great find!

Neat! I am from Baltimore, and from a long line of excellent cooks, if I do say do :)

I have my Mom's cookbook and many people have given me their "inherited" cookbooks - to the point I have NO ROOM.
