A guest left us their ratty stuffed animal... and she's on my FB... I was wondering if we couldn't do a sort of tour of B&Bs with the stuffed animal. They are from France.

I'd send it to you, you take pictures of it on a B&B in the B&B, next to the B&B sign (or something else that shows the B&B's name) and a touristy landmark if you have one near you. You send me the pictures to post on my facebook page for her to see. And then you share my FB post (and tweet) on your pages. We post one a day for as many B&Bs as we have. (I will post twice, once in English and once in French)

And when you have done your photos, you send it off to the next B&B. And eventually it makes it's way back to here.
She was supposed to send me her address to ship it back to her, but never did. Think of the surprise of finding out all the places it has been. And this is likely to also get shared in France, so there's a secondary market that has never likely heard you name. Email me if interested!

Sign me up! I did this in France with my daughter. We have, somewhere, photos of this dopey plush ear of corn (don't ask) with the Venus di Milo.
And I loved the movie Amelie.

1. Are you sure you don't want to create a FB page for it for people to follow?
2. Prob not advisable to say here, but what type of animal/stuffed character is it, ie is it a licensed character, and 3. does it have a name (or have you given it a name).
I ask these questions, because if I did it here I may be likely to have it posed with a famous or semi well known musical person. But it prob all depends on 1, 2 and 3.
If it is just a gimmic for fun...then I understand.

Not licensed as far as I can tell. Same animal as Rizzo on the muppets, I think, could be the same a Minnie, but thin and VERY WELL LOVED. But certainly well loved. Definitely has a name. I have a picture of the red stuffed animal on my B&B facebook page.

I want the publicity to be for the B&Bs. So people have to see the B&B pages to see where he's been. It's all G rated fun.

I am in.
I am out of town until Nov 18th if you could add me to the chain. CHEERS!

We would love to do it, but since we are not on site full time at this time of year, the timing would have to be just right if we are not to hold up the chain too long. The next window of opportunity for us would be between 11/25 and 11/28; then probably not until sometime in the last 1/4 of December. (fwiw, it often seems that it takes an extra day or two for mail to make it out to the end of our peninsula).

reminds me of the red chair and its travels - trouble is with that it isn't very easily transportable to the next location - stuffed animal is a lot easier! reminds me of this - https://jofli.com/

And the reason why we stayed out of that 'fun'.
I wonder if there is something we could dress the stuffed animal in that we could each pin our business card to.... The idea like the stamps or stickers of places on old suitcases.

.
could it have a little suitcase? ie that other bear has a small rucksack with a scrap book in it - ie thick notebook
Each place could do a page? wouldn't cost much to get a nice one - ive got one that I would be happy to donate.

Photos wise... I think taking a handful of photos is good. And if you blog, put it on your blog w/ links to the FB page.
the character near the sign is good as a placeholder...but show it experiencing your B&B too...in a guest room, or on the porch rocking chair, sipping coffee at the table with other guests.
Instead of just using it as a prop, my recommendation would be show it at your inn as a real guest.
ie checking in, enjoying guest amenities...AND visiting the local sites. That would really showcase the character's experience.
I realize we all have a short time frame to host it, AND it will prob not be the best "season" ie falling in a pile raked leaves, or on a stand up paddle board. But I think creativity wise we can all do something unusual.
ps if there is a backpack or something added, I would make it something the character fits inside of for posting onward, and lightweight. Adding literature and more from each inn will increase the cost exponentially as it travels along, and remember it will be going overseas. $

Good Thoughts!!!! Thank you!
As for a note book, just a little one for him to write down his special times traveling without his humans for him to remember. I wouldn't add pamphlets, etc. Just a bag, himself, and a notebook. We will supply his rest of his needs!!!!
