Anyone can ask a question on TA about the inn? And I have no idea this is happening??? I got an email today, 5 days after the fact that 'a guest is still waiting for a response from you...'
Where the hell is this hiding on TA? Now I have to check some unknown section of TA to find out if someone is asking a question? Which also leads to guests thinking someone is monitoring every possible channel 24x7. Like the people who tried to make a reservation thru Yelp over the summer.
Too much work.

If this is the type question I'm thinking about, a potential guest can ask the question and anyone (former guests, etc.) can answer the question, management also gets a notice of the question, but as you say it is not immediate, the few times I've had a question I found others had answered first.

I found that section once. Anyone can answer, but of course, they don't always answer correction or completely.
My question - is your inn accessible? Answer from someone - "no."
My answer, "Our inn is not ADA compliant, but we do have one room on the first floor with grab bars in the shower. You need to walk up 4 steps to the porch to access the first floor."

But if anyone can answer it, how do we keep fake answers from showing up? And fake questions? (Does anyone know if they got rid of the rodent problem?) And where do I find the questions?
Someone did answer the question but they really didn't know the answer. I like what they said tho - contact the inn directly.

Well at least the answer was an intelligent one.

So how do you know it was answered?
Where do the questions/answers show? All I could find on TA was that the questions would be listed publicly on the questions and answers page.... where the heck is that?
And your question about fake answers is an excellent one. One more place to watch for fraud.

I got an email telling me the guest was waiting for a response. When I clicked the link it went to the page with the question. There was an answer there already.
I'll keep the email so I have the link but how does the guest find it to ask the question???

There are several 'ask a question' buttons on our listing but I do not see a link to the Questions/Answers page.

OK, just looked at your listing and found this section at the very bottom of your page. So the question was there 5 days before you got an email about it? Sigh! .

Very recently, like maybe yesterday. I hadn't seen it and went to look. My buzzwords are good ones for the most part. I liked, "healthy choices", "koi pond", and "wrap around porch." Not so happy with, "quite adequate." And why isn't there a button to search for, "view?"

I think it was yesterday too. Mine are fine, although a few words are odd. Likely chosen for frequency of appearance in reviews. Funny, one of Mort's words is a rather irrelevant O-state?? I can see though, where some really negative terms might show up and ones that are adequate like your "quite adequate" can leave a quick cursory less than desirable first impression, nudging a potential guest to not bother following through to read them in context. Or read them first in what likely is a less than stellar review.
I would advise others to check out their TA pages too... so you can pre-emptively know what folks are now seeing as tagged search term descriptors for the new button: READ REVIEWS THAT MENTION:

Ah, now I know why some of you were wondering what I was talking about... yes, I see at a cursory glance rolled out in NE, NY, PA, IL, WA, CA, OR, TX but not in some of the South (VA, WV, FL, LA). Perhaps, 'tis only a test? Hope so.
