My printer decided it had a paper jam a couple weeks ago. After I gave up, a friend cane over, did exactly as I had done and it cleared. Last week it said it had a jam again. This time nothing I did would work - it even fed a piece of paper through. He could not get it either.
I went on the buy it now site instead of bidding, bought it. 2 days later it is here. I thought if I bought the same model it would be unplug/plug and go. Not quite. It went through the setup, but it is up and running. I think I am going to ship mine to them for a rehab. IF it is not going to be too expensive. Will find out Monday.
UPDATE: Found out even if I had gone looking for this model, I would not have found it. They do not make it any longer and the reason the new ones were priced so high was because they are rare. They charge $60 per hour for repair. IF I lived in Lancaster, I would take it in to them. I really like all that this one does and I USE all the features of it. I scan often, copy, and I do SEND faxes (do not receive - turned that off) as City Clerk as well as a few times for guests.

If the new one works, give the old one to someplace that teaches how to repair electronics. High school or workshop kind of place that teaches skills.

Printers are cheap toss the old and just buy a new one..

Yes, it's amazing how cheap and fast they've become, and how good the quality is. It's the ink that costs. It's like, give them the razor, sell them the blade refills.
I'm intrigued by Epson's new models that have big refillable ink tanks that hold 2 years worth of ink and are easy to refill. The printer costs a little more up front, but you more than pay for that over time by not having to buy expensive ink refills.

Is that toner or inkjet? I don't do inkjet anymore.... I have a colour printer, so I can do B&B materials in full colour.

Color inkjet. I had a color laser printer a few years ago and was shocked at the cost of the toner. I won't go that direction again!

Oh! I would like that. I go through a lot of color ink because I print up an 8 1/2 x 11 photo of our wedding couples and give it to them as a gift when they check out.

I agree! (Our city recycles old printers.) Our HP inkjet printer died not too long ago and my dh replaced it with a laser printer (for just black & white) and a Epson inkjet. He found super buys and got 2 printers that are faster and cost less than the HP that got recycled.
