I used Pills bury crescent rolls in cupcake pans. Fill with apple pie filling from a can. Fold dough over filling and bake as directed on the dough package.
People love them!! The only issue is when they ask for the recipe. It's a little embarrassing.
I'm going to do the same for Valentine's day with cherry pie filling.

Try replacing the crescent roll dough with simple puff pastry that you can buy frozen in the supermarket. Likely about the same price, but should provide a flakier take away. The problem with any of the P doughs is that most of them (except their pie dough) are based on biscuit dough, so they are great warm, but turn really hard and chewy when cold. pie dough or puff pastry dough work better cold.

Will do. Always worth a try!

Yes. The puff pastry works really well for this. I don't use the muffin pan, I lay the pastry out so it comes out like a hand pie. It does take a little longer.
