Me on phone. "Can I get a breakdown of the taxes Air actually paid to my state on my behalf?
Air rep: "No"
Sigh. Entered everything into ResKey during the year, both online and Air bookings, so pretty easy to pull the reports. Devised a sort of kluge to get state taxes filed, but not happy with this. Ah well, nothing is easy.
Wrote to Air to let them know the non-accountability is difficult for those of us who must be accountable.

do they bring you a lot of business?
we are avoiding them..
Yes they do. They are the most effective "directory" out there. We added the outside apartment four years ago and the B&B rooms last year. We are very clear about what we do with B&B. Many Air guests comment its their "first real B&B experience".

I would recommend Air to everyone -- the listing is free, the % they take is so small and you don't have to pay credit card fees, etc. The money is always there when they say it will be. You can decide to accept or decline a reservation as well. I've done 3 reservations in the last 3 weeks and all were great. Don't fall for listing your property low. I list it for what it is and the guests have no problem paying it, I'm one of the most expensive ones but that helps weed out the couch seekers.
