In a similar vein - I'm getting more requests for info about the availability of Uber.
In a way, it means we're getting more guests who don't feel the need to drive here for a weekend, which means more carless guests, something we didn't have before.

we are starting to get more requests for uber as well - we only have it in the big cities at the moment just isnt enough demand here yet - London is virtually at war with them as to have what is called a hackney liscence which is the right to pick people up off the street is VERY expensive there so uber is really cutting into their livelihood most cabs in the UK have to be pre booked or from a rank which is a lot cheaper liscence wise as they are a lot more accountable.

Our Legislature just approved allowing Uber to operate in West Virginia. We have few taxi companies and fewer public trans. We are a rural State.

Carless guests are fine if you are in town with a bus/train/airport near by. We found out about Uber from a guest. The next week we found out that the neighbor next door is with Uber. Guests are delighted with the fast service. When they ask we give them the taxi number first, just as we recommend another inn when we are full.

The latest guest wanted to take Uber from the airport to here and then to get a rental car the next day. And, yippee! we are getting a bus this spring! And we got the train 2 years ago.
Once the bus gets started (not sure on number of trips/day and actual start date) I'm going to start plugging that to guests from NYC who don't mind public transport and are used to not having a car. The bus will go near the water so they can do sailing, kayaking and more.
And I may be able to buy passes that I can hand out. One free bus trip per stay, something like that.

No Uber. No taxi. No car rental. No bus. No train. If you're coming to my town, you'd better have a car or a spirited horse. To quote Gillum, we are a rural state.
