You know how things just don't work for me on vacation? Not this time. We were so far away from technology not a single person was on a cellphone. They used them to take pix, but none of them worked for calls. Hallelujah!
Almost every place we stayed was good enough. The restaurants were good enough. The one tourist trap we went to was SO bad we could laugh about it.
We drove four HOURS to see something that was under water (that should not have been) and we laughed about it. We tried to go to the museum instead and drove around looking for it. It was listed online so I called the phone number. (The one time I used the mobile hotspot was to find this phone number.) Got the local taxi service who was surprised his number was being used by a museum that hadn't even been built yet. (We saw the 'To be built' sign as we left town.) We laughed.
We crossed state borders so many times in an hour that the car clock stopped trying to figure out where we were.
The scenery was so freakin' amazing that I'm stunned all over again looking at the photos.

Go on vacation. Don't be a grumpy innkeeper this season.

Glad to hear that you had a great vacation and you weren't ran over by those bison!

Laughing through it all is also good medicine for your soul. Glad you have a good time.

The best laid plans? Sounds like a relaxing time. Especially the part about no phones. Love the picture.

So glad you had a good time. Vacations are so important to remember that life is not all about innkeeping.
We just returnd last night from a 10 day vacation in the Azores. Now it's a push to get through the summer on one pieces to be able to get to the next getaway.
