Looking for place to print photos on canvas

I know someone mentioned WalMart does this (prints your photos on canvas) but the Wally World here has two really poorly done examples on the wall so I'm wondering if there are better places that anyone has used? Really looking for someplace that you've used that has turned out well.
Second - does anyone use software to change photos into 'paintings'? What do you use?

To your second question ... fotosketcher. I've made some lovely images for postcards and also some really fun graphics with this. It's free and I've had no problems with it. I always run scans for viruses just to be sure.
