Hi. I don't want the guests to be disturbed, nor do I want them to join us. But I do want to continue to live my life and this weekend, my life involves a graduation party.
I thought I'd inform the guests with notes on their pillows.
How does this read? OR - do you have a better idea?
To our guests:
On Sunday evening, we will be celebrating a family event (graduation!) in our private yard space.
The group will be small and we don't anticipate the celebration to go late.
However, our guests' comfort is most important! If, for any reason, our celebration disturbs your enjoyment of our property, please, please let us know.
We are pretty proud of our graduate!
All the best, Beachy and Hubby

Beachy & Hubby will be hosting a celebration of graduation with family and close friends Sunday evening. If there is a need to contact us during this family event, please call xxx-xxx-xxxx.
If you have a reception area, put the sign there. Decorate the sign with a cap & tassel to draw attention to it.

hahahhahahha. No, I definitely don't want to give them a reason to interrupt. Good feedback.

During the event, please feel free to continue to make yourself comfortable in the common areas of the inn; the front porch, koi pond beach and breakfast room.
what do you thin? I don't want them to feel awkward having their coffee or wine by the pond where they will be able to see us.

Note in the common space.
Give the guests a phone number if they need you.
Invite them to enjoy the pond, etc. Perhaps point out the common ground area on check in this weekend.
We stayed at a place where the innkeepers were hosting a group event in the dining room. We were told to keep out and not disturb them.
Anything more polite than that will suffice for your guests!

Beachy & Hubby will be hosting a [private] celebration .....
Because there seems to be at least one guest that feels like they have become your best friend

.
So they see you. Big deal. You might see your neighbors having a party without feeling you must join them. You will have told them this is a family (or private as someone suggested) event and there is no reason for it to be a slight or insult to anyone. They pay for the ROOM, not your family event.

Dear Guests,
The backyard is hosting a private graduation party so please be considerate of the other party's guests, but still feel free to enjoy the pond and other areas of the grounds. (FYI-- Graduate says that you may join the party at $250 per person and give the ex-student a start into the new phase of life!

BTW, I did want to mention it's pretty nervy of you to continue to live your own life. ;-)
