Tina Czarnota began/designated National Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day which falls annually on the first Sunday in October. She wanted me to let you all know about something special we are doing THIS YEAR for this day. She is giving us enough advance notice, if all of us want to do something or join in below:
"If you and your inn would like to be involved in this event. It's local but we will be broadcasting live, streaming and as the net is global, well, transmission should be nationwide and (must check) global.
We are accepting (begging lol) all manner of B&B, Inn related goods to be include in either our raffle, giveaway or similar.
Chotchkis from logo'd goods to B&B gift cards (used only if one lodges at property so win-win as inn's name gets out either way), donations, product placements and more.
And there's a special offer which would involve a nominal fee, donation to pay for transmission and that would be to set aside a slot for a live call in at our event. Peter Wein would do a broadcast interview and that would give innkeeper a chance to tell us about their property, any specials they may be boasting, location, high points etc. Would be fun.
If any of the above sounds appealing, don't hesitate to reply to Tina (her contact info is on the link and that's her below center) and we can go from there.

What IS National Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day?
This page says:
"This year, why not celebrate ‘Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day’ by choosing one of the world’s finest rural retreats and enjoying a relaxing weekend getaway.
‘Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day’ is an occasion that originated a good while ago in the west, and thousands of hostelries now make a special effort every year to welcome visitors by providing special events, information and entertainments.
Ways that you could celebrate ‘Country Inn Bed and Breakfast Day’ could include cooking your family a traditional fried breakfast, if you are unable to get away for the occasion, perhaps with some specialties of your region, or researching the history of country inns and bed and breakfasts. There are thousands, and quite a few have been the scene of thrilling historical moments. Why not make a bucket list of famous country inns that you would love to visit?"
and more here.

And on a side note from JB - if you are on innrewards, this may be a good promotion to put on the. I have asked Tina for a #hashtag, many hands make light work - if we can all share it somewhere, ie facebook, blog, instagram, twitter, we may get this special day noticed.

Hi gang! Thanks for posting info and getting this pa'tee started. I appreciate the hand up, Shellie, J.Bloggs and all. As we've just begun formulating ideas for 2016 B&B Day, we're at planning stages. I'm figuring best way for interested parties to contact me is via one location rather than scattered. However, updated material, shout outs will be here, Twitter, Facebook etc.) Easier for me to pick up mail from one or two locations. Right now best way to reach me is [email protected] addy on my web page or 561-482-3213. (PLZ No posting "For a good time call..." anywhere. lol To confirm that I've rec'd your info, be sure to get confirm from me. The horse's mouth. If you don't hear from me, tap me, remind me. This way you're not left out. I'm not ignoring you, just juggling. ;-)
So, I'm drafting a call in/interview sheet w/limited time slots for call in participants (still working that). Also, if you do not have a call in arranged, not to worry. Your donations will be added to a great basket with shrink wrap, bow all that jazz. Should you be local on Day of event, let me know and we'll arrange a slot for you with Mr. Wein for an in person sit down interview. That would be a hoot! Note: To be on level...I will be selling raffle tickets for the basket(s) with your donations also w/local merchants, participants (SOFL and radio audience, streaming will hear about you) at a nom. price. Maybe a buck a ticket. Something affordable. $ will not go to me but to operation costs. So far, Mr. Wein's more than reasonable fee is coming from my pocket. The few $ coming in off basket(s) raffle will be put towards the afore noted. * The photo you see posted is from Ft. Lauderdale International Film Fest 2015 so Mr. Wein's program picks up lots of lodging, dining eyes and ears. ;-) )
To add another layer to this event...some of you know I write PG-13 mystery/coms (think Jessica Fletcher meets Bridget Jones on the way to Midnight In Paris) and have screenplay adapted my two novels w/my third going right to script with dreams to seeing them on Screen. * Some scenes have been filmed and were Official Selections at Palm Beach Women's International Film Fest 2011 and Ft. Lauderdale International Film Fest - '15. Saying this is too note that we will be incorp'ing the movie angle to this event. Exciting! and should draw more interested parties. This means we will have actors, talent, cast, crew included in live interviews for about a four hour stretch that day.
So, gang, this is what we have so far! Once things get going and it's closer to the Day -- shooting for first Sun. of Oct. as that is Official Day in Almanac Calendar -- it's only fitting that we book that providing venue will be available then! When things are firmed up a bit more, post hither, dither and yon, get word out, involve, have fun with it.
B&B Day was sponsored Oct. 2005 in S. FL by Tina Czarnota and announced annually in Chases Calendar Almanac. I believe it has been taken over by another pub. company but they've been gracious to carrying on the tradition of telling the world about Nat'l. B&B Day. Since it's conception, B&B, Inn Day has branched out to welcome our neighbors to the north, Oh, Canada. B&B, Inn properties around the world are welcomed to call it their Day as well!
My home away from home. I love Country Inn's Bed and Breakfasts!

P. S. - Gal in middle is Molly Jade and is conceptual actor who plays Kim. We hope we can make Molly the contracted actor for the role of Kim for this character is in all three scripts and both books. I'm the one on right. lol

Question re: hastags. I've one on Twitter but not sure I've done it right. Does it get attached to handle/moniker/name or can one just create a # or @ out of the blue? Once I figure that out, I can create one more recognizable to inn related material.
Also, I'm 99.8% sure we have our venue. Thing is they can only give us weekdays so I'm grabbing Sept. 30th. Fri. 12 - 4 p.m.

And on a side note from JB - if you are on innrewards, this may be a good promotion to put on the. I have asked Tina for a #hashtag, many hands make light work - if we can all share it somewhere, ie facebook, blog, instagram, twitter, we may get this special day noticed..
JB, Innrewards sounds great. Bring it, gang. ;-)
Where is your inn?

Would love to hear more about the innrewards program. Have info, link, whatever will be fine.

A HUGE lodging, hospitality site has asked for CI,B&B Day so I sent them a rough draft, proposal for the event. I hope, I hope, I hope they like what they see. Will let you know. ;-)

A little update on Country Inn, B&B Day -
* Radio personality returned required info to Gen. Mgr. of venue inn so radio is confirmed. Just waiting to hear from PTB for inn venue to confirm.
* A huge bibliophile community is posting shout out in mo. newsletter about you/me/we and B&B Day. Her site caters to writers, readers, authors...biblios who generally love hammocks, cozy reading nooks, places to inn-joy books hence more promo.
* I'm active on FB, Twitter etc. keeping the pages, posts buzzing. I've joined a few biz sites to welcome them in. Over-lapping is great for businesses to be discovered.
* A huge Professional Association for Owners and Innkeepers is checking us out (gave up courting them a year ago and viola, they got with me)! And I'm out hither, dither and yon, posting, talking, writing, waiting with and for any who will listen. lol
Thank you Swirt for your book cover blurb and for welcoming me in long ago. JBloggs, Shellie for getting the shout out posted here and things started. (Might be one of the reasons Association contacted me). Gillum House for contribution and support, the rest of you innkeepers, hosts who've written, posted, welcomed me here. Cheers! Now let's go get 'em!

Any of these promotions can be uploaded to InnRewards. Just let us know how we can help.

Just let us know when you want us to send you our "donation" of whatever we said we would donate (goods or otherwise). And any other information, ifyou have a set format for it:
Inn name
Location (city)
Website URL

Thank you, JB. Working on getting a PO Box open. Hinges on waiting, waiting for venue to confirm. If no, then I've to float backup plan to radio guy. Meantime, I've started #BBInnDay on Twitter, FB. As there's a need to keep most of planning private, I can't post much on it. Never used # and don't quite get them? Anyway, hurry up and wait it's been lately.
On the legal end of things, I've spoken with FL Small Biz at local office and long story shortened, I'm not allowed to conduct a raffle but I can collect items given to the cause and sell them, baskets of merchandise to promote the day, artists and I was going to donate a small % to a humane group. That said, I won't be able to collect raffle $ to defray costs as I'd hoped (I'd need a gambling lic) but will have to lean on 98% of my own $ to throw this event. So-o, if it is okay with inn folk that I put a small price on their gifts, would that be okay with innkeepers? It'll be about a buck or so. I might pull in $10 - $50 for the event but the idea is to promote the Day, Film, Charity not to make a killing off it. Are you all okay with that? They need not do anything re: this. It falls on me to show IRS. Or if it comes to this, I'll just give collected merchandise as giveaways FOC. That won't make any $ at all but it would be the least hassle.
