New scam

HI, This may be a new scam to us and old to all of you. WE got a online inquiry about our property. My husband responded. We got an e mail back saying they liked the inn but wanted to check out the location as it was confusing on google maps. They then said to check it and supplied a goole map link. When my husband started to go to said link our spyware deemed it a malicious site and stopped him. Thank goodness it could have hijacked our computer. They are getting very tricky out there!

we NEVER open links. we get emails often saying, 'can you look at my receipt? I think you made a mistake.' We delete them.

I rarely open a link provided by someone I know unless they give an explanation of what it is about in the e-mail because there are too many hacks. Just a link? NO. Same for Friend requests on FB - we are already friends and I am not falling for that one.
If I get a message from a company with a link to their site, I ignore it and go directly to the site on my own if it is something I need to see - and that includes my bank.

Had something similar today, a request to change a reservation with an attached confirmation. Attachment said PDF but was followed by HTML so I assume it was a link. Attachment said it was from Exped__, but since I don't use any of the online agencies the email just went in the deleted folder as suspected spam.

We get that one often. Delete. Do not open an attachment.
