We have a full house this weekend and are closed from Sunday night through Thursday night. I have taken vacation from work and we are using one of our rooms for the week.
The plan is:
sleep in, golf, eat out, beach, wine, repeat as needed.
We are giddy.

Store up that feeling for when August comes!.

That's the plan!!!! We also have a week in September blocked off. We don't have to go anywhere, so the money lost is really 'vacation budget' that we don't have to spend on airfare and hotel.

I had so much fun on my vacation that I'm seriously thinking about heading to California in January. Tessie doesn't seem to have any objections yet.

I LIVE for vacations! Whether at home or someplace new, it's the only way I can mentally get through the busy times. Fantasize on my next trip.

We're finally at that point where we're willing to step away longer from the b&b. Whether hiring someone else or close down, it depends on the time of year.
I'm glad that you'll be staying in a lovely b&b on your vacation!

What fun! We had a couple of unplanned days off this week and we took advantage!

The power company is giving me a vacation day Tuesday - the power will be off in the entire town and surrounding ares from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. ALL businesses, banks etc will be closed. Since the weather report says it will be HOT, we are going for a ride.

WoopWoop! Sounds like a great getaway!
Do put your blinders on though. We have take a vacation at home before and worked harder than ever!

Good for you! Do you have a No Vacancy sign to keep walkins at bay? :)

Excellent! Have a great time. I can't vacation in my own house :( If I want a complete day or two off, I'll go stay at my sister's house - 3 miles away :)

Where is that generator when you need it?

A/C is the biggest power draw. My generator does everything but air.

Good for you! We have found that taking several days off in a row and working like hell for 3 weeks sets a good pace and keeps the bills paid. This year we are extending our time "off"even further by using only the cottage for some of the 3-4 weeks we are "on" and closing the house. We have been going full tilt for almost 3 weeks now and look forward to a reduced schedule next week.

Amen sista! We've been going on cruises in the winter. Just closed down and off we go just like retired people (some day soon he will be retired)

Got a nice invitation from a nearby inmate to come visit. I was really touched! Thank you, what a very nIce idea, Zbut we are sticking close to home. Hey, if I try a new restaurant, is the bill deductable?
After our housekeeper finally left yesterday , we went for a walk downtown. Got a cappuccino at the local coffee bar, went into some shops and had an early dinner in a favorite restaurant. Then some wine. I like vacation.
Golf today. Then easy evening grilling hotdogs.
We did sleep in our #1 room last night. Nice room!!

Market research for sure. And anytime you go out with someone and discuss the business / b & B.

Had a great week. Ate out, golfed, did some chores, but not too many. Drank too much wine, slept a little late, saw some sunrises.
We slept in the third floor 'best view' room. We loved it! No issues charging top dollar for that room.
