Hi there! This is my first post on INNspiring. My husband and I are the live in managers at a small 10 room inn on the Washington coast. We currently have KeepMeBooked and as some of you may know they are closing on June 30th (our Doomsday ticker says 12 Days left). We've been looking at a few booking websites and most seem overly complicated for our simple business. And other are just too simple and don't have necessary features we need (like setting min and max days for weekends/weekdays and seasons/holidays). Anyways, my question is, which booking system, site or company do you use for your small inn?
Thanks so much!

Very happy with Reservation Key. You can do a 1 mth trial and you can download your current data so it is not lost.
Search the site, there are many posts about this system.

Reservation Key here also. Very happy with them. Extremely user friendly and excellent customer service.

I love ReservationKey. Good tech support, reports, add-ons, easy to use as both guests and manager. From what you said, it has everything you need.

Thanks everyone!
Would any of you mind sending me a link to either your booking site or someone's that uses ReservationKey so I can see what it looks like from the guests POV?

I sent mine.

Edited: I sent you a link direct to the calendar the guest sees, not my site. I may have misunderstood what you were asking for.

Thanks everyone!

From the RezKey website: you can search those B&B sites to see how it works.

I don't have a link to offer as yet having just downloaded the trial this month and I'm not live on my website as yet, but glad to say that I'm impressed with what I see. I had a personal email from John, the program owner/developer the next time I looked at the computer following my download, so different from many companies that hide from their customers. My previous booking system was pencil and paper, at this point I think I've entered everything from our paper book and begun to learn how Reservation Key operates and plan to set up the ability to accept cards online before attempting to put it live on our website.

I am who my name says. Make a reservation through my web site for November 10. I do not take CC# so complete the process to see what gets generated. I wrote the responses and can change it any time I want. Others do. I call for the numbers. Some who use it take deposits. That is a date that I will know to delete the rez.

Has anyone here used Reservation Key with a Wix website? The owners of the Inn we manage are trying to set up a new website as well as having to get a new booking system (Thanks again KeepMeBooked).

No do it yourself websites! Get someone who designs websites to do it.

We recently swapped web hosting companies after years of being ignored by the former host, there are some really good folks out there that are quick to answer questions and guide you through the process.
I also took advice given here on the forum to go with a WP theme, I used to think I liked my old do-it-yourself site, but now I realize I just didn't know what I was missing.

We use reservation key with a WP site. Guests enter their card information. I swipe the card when they arrive or enter with card not present, depending on the situation. You can set up the program with more than one level of access if staff are checking in guests. We use Square as our card processor.
Reskey occupancy and other records are GREAT. Very handy at end of year when I submit state taxes.
I have not had to phone for assistance yet. Fairly intuitive. I'm 'medium' knowledge regarding computer programs.
Easy to keep notes on guest preferences etc....Love the program and reasonable priced. I've checked other recently, but will be staying with ResKey.

There are a lot of ResKey users here, and I used to have ResKey when I had my own B&B (6 rooms, sold in 2014). I innsit now, and many of the B&Bs I sit for use ThinkReservations, including my old B&B. You may want to also check it out. They have a very nice dynamic pricing setup if you want to do that sort of thing, and a good user interface. They have just added to their staff, and one of the new hires is actually an innkeeper.

When checking systems also look at their compatibility with booking channels (such as TripAdvisor's TripConnect, or OTAs like Booking.com or Expedia) and payment gateways (not sure I used the right terminology but like Authorize.net).
Even if you are not interested in either of these right now, you may change your mind in a year or so.

Related to this, ask if the system can generate "ical" links for availability calendars (or can it read ical links from other calendars). You can use ical links to drive the availability calendars on other listing sites (like ABnB, for example).
