This is a first for me and I hope a last! Guest made a reservation for 2. Late arrival. Night clerk reported that a
man dropped off two children before she had a chance to
say we dont take children. He drove away immediately
and they stayed the night. Boy wanted to smoke pot (not
allowed) and they were hungry!
They were picked up early next morning but I wrote him a
note once I learned what happened, and said if he hadnt
picked them up I would have called Child Protective Services.
It is amazing to me how a parent would do that. He had paid
for the room but I even asked him on the phone if there were any children and he said no.
Have any of you ever experienced something similar?

Bizarre.
The boy wanted to smoke pot? He asked? WTF?
How old were they?
Did you feed them? Did you see them at breakfast?

Ok, I know I've been gone awhile, so I'm not real familiar with you and your posts. Are you for real? Your posts are bizarre and unbelievable.

I'm with Banana on this one. Every post has been bizarre. They're cut and pasted from somewhere because their format is not from this forum. Me thinks we have a gorilla in our midst.

The website looks legit though. I'm almost tempted to call the number and ask if they are on this forum, or if someone is just using that link? I don't remember when I signed up to this site if there was some type of confirmation if you wanted to add a link?

This is ridiculous. Don't you live there? Or if you have hired help why in heavens name would they allow someone to bring in two unaccompanied children? You have a very strange operation and not one any of us would likely do. You sound more like a hostel rather than a B & B. Your idea of a B & B is totally different from what most of use have. Sounds more like an Air location. You need to rethink your operations because they are what are causing you the issues.
Honestly half the stuff you posts troubles most of us.

I don't know about where you are, but around here, you would have become their guardian under the law and been responsible for them. At least one person over the age of 18 must be in the room. I would have called or texted the parents that if there is no one over 18 in the room that we have a legal obligation to call Children's Welfare. Le them deal with the repercussions.

Since you don't have a front desk or staff as it said on your web site. I think Number one I would of asked the young people where their dad went? If they said they did not know I would of called the sheriff or If they did know I would of got the number where he was , and called Him to come and get the children or young persons. As You Know we do not cater to children as per our conversation when booking our rooms.
By the way how old were the children?
Also you prices are really low. You must like working hard for little pay back ? Like every one here said raise your prices.

Now I remember, the last time you brought up some crazy guest story I, as well as many others here, stated you should raise your rates. Until you do you will continue to have these crazy occurrences.
Regarding your current question. No, I would not allow someone to drop off children and depart without someone 18 staying. I have had someone call and ask a couple of times before booking. The answer has always been no. This is not an overnight daycare.
Had this happened here, the police would be called and they could deal with getting these children to the proper authorities as I have found children services to be rather slow to respond in these matters.
