First destructive guest

Air guest. First timer. small dog and large dog. Upon departure found the pee stain at about human shoulder level in the bed. Emailed guest, who emailed back apologetically exclaiming 'I guess we shouldn't have let the dogs on the bed. I didn't know it was that bad. Sorry for ruining your day.'
I replied via email the damage had been limited and rather than having to replace the mattress, only the waterproof shield will have to be replaced, 'How would you like to cover that?'
Let's see if there is an answer.
 
Do you have their credit card? (I assume since it's Air, they did all the card handling.) We always get a credit card from Air guests anyway to cover damages which I would then charge immediately. Another reason I so will never take guest pets - some people shouldn't have pets just like some should never have children. Good luck, I hope you get your money.
 
If it's via Air, do the request via Air, they are supposed to handle that kind of thing.

Up to now, all the dog folks have been great. I've never taken a deposit or charged a pet fee.
After a bit more messaging back and forth guest says a check will be mailed. I'm guessing from the tone of the communication that it will.
Then I will leave the guest review. I've made no mention of the reviews in any communication.
Relieved and calmed down. I still have to go to the nearby city to clean the rental there.
No guests tonight. We were going to do a day trip ourselves but DH is under the weather.

Yes. Then she would have to phone, I take info, run card not present, lose %. Even more time. I asked for the check to be sent. The amount I'm asking is not much. Not worth a small claims court fee. Frankly I didn't want to talk to her for fear of the snark emerging.
