I don't want to create more work for anyone.
But wondering if folks with a b&b could enter it in a topic or a listing on here or if we could somehow change the Member B&B's listed someway (each having to amend their own listing) starting with STATE, then city/town, then name
So if we want to stay someplace or want to recommend a place to friends/family, we could see quickly if there's a place or two ... in Alaska, or Scotland or Podunk

Like I said ... I don't want to create more work for Swirt.

I don't think it's about more work. It's about annonimity. Most of us are undercover and a public list like that would make it too easy for some to figure out who we are. Most know who we are because they've hung around for a long time and we develop a trust.

How about this - we can create a document that can go under resources. I will volunteer to accept info from anyone who wants to submit it to maintain their anonymity.
Country
State
Town
Name of inn
Website
I swear by whatever will make you happy that I will not attach your innspiring name to your inn name. And if I don't already know who you are I'll promptly forget after entering the info.
It will just be a list by country and state of anyone who wants to add their info.
If this will work for everyone, email Morticia from this site.

I'm not looking to find out who owns what inn or disrupt someone's anonymity. I'm anonymous myself.
But what about for all the member B&B'S listed here ... I don't see a way to sort by state if for example 'I'm looking for West Virginia' ... that's all I mean. Unless it's there and I don't see it?
If you don't want your inn listed or searchable by state, you wouldn't list it. And I wouldn't ask that anyone put their member ID up unless they chose to do so.

It called being Sherlock and Watson…. This person mentioned this which puts them in this state. Oh, now they say that they are eight hours north of so-and-so who I know is in this place.

No gracias.
I asked for a private forum and got told no we like it how it is. It's not a B&B directory and not many are hard to figure out. Maybe they are not offering their places up to others, their prerogative.
SS wrote "So if we want to stay someplace or want to recommend a place to friends/family, we could see quickly if there's a place or two ..." and JB adds "or a place NOT to recommend" haha

Why not just create a topic and ask members if any of them are in the area you will be visiting? They can always contact you privately through your contact link on your profile. It may not be a fast solution if you are on the road, and some members never answer their contact e-mail. But by not answering they are essentially telling you they don't want you visiting anyway. Right?

Silverspoon - I tried that when I was going to Scotland and did not get a reply ... I guess it went unseen at the time. Or maybe they didn't want me visiting, but I was going to PAY the going rate ... I'm not so bad. Just a suggestion is all.

I don't use the email associated with my userid on here. I've had a pile of email stacked up from folks and I've had to apologize for not seeing it.
So, if anyone does want to send their info, also shout out here that you did. :)

Yes, I tried the Scotland contact a well...no reply either. Some members simply want to remain at a distance. I get it.

Do you mean me ? Didn't see anything from anyone on this forum. I've no idea what email my userid goes to, probably my hotmail which I rarely look at. If it was a posting I sometimes go away from this forum for weeks/months at a time, so it could have been during a hiatus.

Yup it was you I tried to contact. My nephew and wife were going to Scotland and I wanted to send them to you, but I don't know who you are and you didn't answer my e-mail. Not a problem...they had a great time anyway!
