... who leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. I have one who would be turning innkeepers away from the Vets program.
I have just had the 4th e-mail from the same woman asking about the offer, availability, taxes/fees, breakfast (is it included) but this one was when would it be convenient to call to reserve. In the previous 3 e-mails I replied with links (and with the second e-mail, noticed the first one was to "undisclosed recipients") to the official site and telling her everything she needed was on my Home Page.
I had an e-mail from a B & B across the mountain telling me about someone inquiring about availability for Nov 10 and more - there had been more than one e-mail. I replied, let me guess and I gave the name. Bingo! Then I get a call from the innkeeper that the woman had just called and she really did not want to take her because of all the previous communication but had just put her off with "I am waiting for a return call from someone". She felt badly about it and wanted to know how she should respond. Just before we ended the conversation, I did a refresh on my e-mails.
Son-of-a-gun, there she is, now asking me when it would be convenient to call with her credit card numbers. I am afraid I gave her a grump response. Told her ALL the information was on the official web site AND on my Home Page. And a simple phone call to the B& B of her choice in the first place would have answered all her questions and would have been the correct thing to do. OH, and she asked the other innkeeper if she really would be charged if she cancelled 24 hours before - she was told YES, because it would keep someone else from getting the room.
Most of the Vets I have dealt with have been very nice. This one may be nice, but she has managed to piss-off 2 innkeepers so far. Fortunately, neither of us lump all with the one as some do.
