Me: I'll show you your bathroom. It's down the hall but it is private. You are the only ones using it.
Her: how many other rooms share the bathroom?

I have the same conversation. Followed closely by - where's the bathroom for all these other rooms?

We get the exact same thing. I always think how to reword it so it makes sense the first time.
Maybe: Here's your room, Room 4. The bathroom across the hall is for Room 4, Room 5 and 6 have their own bathroom.

If they are already booked in and taking it, then let them think it is shared and they will keep it tidier. They already think it is, sobeit.

Those are the folks who write the reviews saying they had a shared bath. Beware!!! The ones I have to constantly correct.
The ones who wanted the $50 off per night but never asked why.
It would be nice if they kept it tidier!

Answer - they preferred to pay more for an all en suite rooms so they have bathrooms in their room.

Answer - Oh, they don't have one. There is a lovely box of depends in the closet for their use.

I had a guest use another guest rooms bathroom one morning to shower (it is my other room with a private but across the hall bathroom)... I could hear that shower running from the kitchen (right above) and I knew the room was vacant the night before. When I ask him why he showered in the bathroom that wasn't his, he insisted that he didn't have a shower or tub in his bathroom. I said, "there most certainly is one! He was furious and stormed upstairs to investigate. With me right behind, he walked in and out of his bathroom and said, "well, you hide that real well" even more furious.... I don't know what he thought was BEHIND THE CLOSED SHOWER CURTAIN OF A SHOWER/TUB COMBO?!?!?!

Its why we always leave the shower door open - its a bifolding door - have had people walk into it before -

We have found that if the door is open, people may glance in, maybe take a step in, but close it and put a sign on it that says, "private" and everyone and their brother and sister is trying the door handle...

Holy cow, that's a good one. Maybe figured he shouldn't look behind the curtain?
We have to lock the door to the hall bath or everything goes missing. Guests with that room end up with no towels or a used bathroom if the door is open or unlocked.

Really!?!?!? He couldn't find the shower?? OMG! Did he actually tell you that with a straight face? What, on earth, did he think was behind that large curtain in the bathroom?
