Once in a blue moon I'll check my listing on TA. I use their pay for clicks system, costs me about $7/month and lets people book a room right from TA.
Under rates, it listed that you can book through my website (they call it "Official Site") at $144, or through Booking at $144, or through priceline at $144 $124. Huh? It's $144. Where do they get marking a line through $144 and saying it's a special deal at $124?
I click on this special deal, go to the priceline website, and it shows my place, along with all my competition. And the price on my place? $144!
That's bound to make people mad, but I don't think they would blame me. Just would blame priceline for the bait and switch. I don't know why TA allows this stuff.

They would blame you, not Priceline. They don't know where the prices come from, but most people assume that the big guy won't be the one making the mistake. Not unless they try another listing and get the same scam.
I've had people call to ask me the real price because what was in their shopping cart was different from what they saw when they started.
Then they go ahead and reward the scammer by continuing with the reservation online rather than taking me up on the offer to complete the reservation for them at the lower price.

I'm with morticia on this, I think they'll blame you.
People don't seem to understand the difference between you owing and for the most part controlling the contents of your website, but you don't control the contents of "your" page on other websites.

I've tried explaining to irate callers they are not on my website when they start quoting rates of $85 to me. They insist. When I explain there are people who create websites and steal photos from small businesses and pretend to be that small business they think I'm lying.
Sort of like insisting I have to accept their bnb dot com gift cards because my inn is on their site.

I've seen the bait and switch on some sites. I won't book with them because of it.

I have seen that 100 times. They do it everywhere. Liars and cheats.

It's not even that, even for sites I'm legitimately listed on people don't understand that it's not my website just because it says myB&B at the top of the page.
