That's all the housekeeper said. I know he's gotten $50 tips before, so I can only imagine.

Rejoicing with your housekeeper! Keep up the great work!

Ask so you can send a thank you note, or hand her one.
Esp if they are repeats.

When it comes to tips, I would never ask. What I do not know, I cannot answer if a certain nosy, greedy agency were to ask about tips they were not told about. My answer would be I have no idea. I know that when we have no staff there usually is NO tip.
And congrats to the housekeeper. It is wonderful to feel appreciated.

No, I would not ask amount ... I operated on the don't ask, don't tell principle as I did not want any involvement with tip reporting.
But I would offer him a thank you card to write in and mail.

I've told all of them to not tell me so there's no tax implications for us. Taxes are up to the housekeeper to handle.
That said, he did tell me that it helped a lot to pay some unexpected car repairs.
He's getting the best day of the week - Sunday. Everyone is checking out.

Speaking of tips - if you have a chance read the inn Facebook post from this morning. They made me cry.

Nice! A great comment left by a guest can feel every bit as good as a monetary tip. I hadn't thought of posting them on FB. Great idea!

From the title "Best tip ever" I was expecting a wonderful tip on how to double my income with no extra work or expense. You keep working on that one and let us know when you have it. :)
