I set myself the task of cleaning one thing everyday. I did my desk last week when my printer broke and I had to make room for one twice the size. Then, yesterday, I cleared off the dining room hutch and put all the random grandkid pix in their appropriate frames instead of leaving them loose everywhere.
Today I am attacking one drawer in a set of 2 2-drawer filing cabinets.
So far, I have liberated 100's of sheets of paper from sales brochures and old class materials (marketing your inn, revenue management, going green, chamber memberships). All the sheets are blank on the back so I now have tons of 'registration form' sheets for guest info.
I found folders filled with info from all sorts of directories we no longer belong to and which I don't know if they even exist any longer - Virtual Cities, anyone?
Interestingly, I found the original printout from that site with an exterior photo of the inn. Holy cow! We had trees and shrubs that no longer exist. From the angle I should be able to see the parking lot, but it's obscured by a hedge. Excellent idea to keep guests from pulling too far forward and to keep all the headlights from lighting up the neighbors' house at 1 AM. However, lousy for snow removal, so better it's gone.
OK, back to work...
