When tv shows give bad advice

Been catching up on my B&B the best - various advice which is not just bad but wrong
ie advised couple to get chickens and give to guests - you are not allowed to do this as you can't salmonella test them - you can eat them yourself but you can't serve to guests
Various other things which I have been shouting at the tv about

I've never seen a news story or show, on a subject I know well, that didn't contain lots of errors, often glaring ones. It's a shame they don't run these things by a few people "in the trenches" before they publish them.

just super annoying when its a show about how to do B&B properly which is giving you in accurate advice by an "expert" - in the episode watched today woman had built a shepherds hut - Expert was well you will need to see if you need planning permission - planning is required BEFORE you build otherwise they can make you take it down! DUH so she is in trouble straight away! also planners super really hate it if you do it then try and get planning its the best way to really get their backs up when you might have gotten it if you had done it properly in the first place!

We have an odd quirk here in town that the health inspector keeps arguing with us about - we CANNOT have a commercial kitchen. HI says we should install one so we can make cookies in the afternoon. (He's nuts. No way I am spending $10k to bake cookies!) He says we could then get a different license. He keeps telling me other B&B's have this license.
Anyhoo, another B&B decided to host cooking classes for which you need a commercial kitchen. They started installing one. Town found out and told them no, they can't have a comm kitchen and they can't host cooking classes in their home kitchen. Would not renew their B&B license. Innkeepers ran without it for years and no one said boo. Innkeeper has since died and property was sold.
