I LOVE hospitality! I am an inspiring Inn Keeper that would ove guidance on how to take the first STEPS to my dream. How did you all get started?-Ramonita

Welcome. Can you tell us more about yourself? Are you working? Are you a homeowner? Family? What area of the country? What types of background do you have?
Without knowing anything, I'd suggest you get a job at a hotel or inn near you and start saving your money.

Start by reading all the threads here first. I think everything has been asked here several times
then attend aspiring workshop and start saving money.

Define 'hospitality'. Think of the question as being interviewed at the bank when you go for a loan. You might need money to buy a place or to make renovations on a building you own. The bank will want to know what you think it is you're doing.
So, what do you think hospitality is? What do you see a typical Innkeeper's day looks like? Thinking over these questions you can narrow your focus on exactly what you want to do and then we can help you figure out where to go.
There are several hundred innkeepers (past, present, and future) on here. Everyone has a different story of how they got here. Every path is unique, but there are a few things almost everyone has done to open their doors.
Where you are in the process will help us reply so we don't tell you stuff you've already done.

Welcome! I would second Empty Nest and Beachy posts. You will need money and lots of it. Twenty percent down to buy a place at least. Banks want to see green not dreams before they hand out their money. If you already have a job, get a job on Sat at an inn. It will help you decide if this is the life for you, if you got what it takes, and get experience with on the job training. Save your money. Every penny you don't need to spend goes into your fund. That's how you become an innkeeper. Or in my case your family owns one and you jump at the chance when your uncle retires.

I have a pretty interesting story of how I became an Innkeeper. You never know where life will take you. http://bifulco.bangordailynews.com/2016/12/06/home/how-i-became-an-innkeeper-in-maine/

An aspiring innkeeper workshop is the way to go. You stay a weekend and shadow the innkeepers, attend workshops, get to know other aspirings ... you really get to see what is involved.

The getting a job at a hotel is a good starting point. Working front desk will be an education. I spent 10 years as a relief night auditor at a 203-room hotel. I was manager on duty, reservations, auditor, front desk - all-in-one. Dealt with all sorts of people. I also learned a lot about the kind of record keeping I would have to do. Before I opened, I actually worked at a motel for a couple weeks in housekeeping to experience that end of it (I knew someone who managed a motel who let me work a couple weeks without going to all the trouble of putting me on the payroll).
