139 Ridge Ave., Greendale, IN 47025 on realtor.com
8 bedrooms, 8 baths, beautiful, cheap
50 years ago the work wouldn't have frightened me, today I lack the energy (and the bankroll) for a project like this.

I love the dreaming part. We've already decided no more renos. But the 'oh, we could save that place!' force is strong within us.

8 bedrooms 8 baths to renovate - that's nothing lol

$59,000. I'm sure Joey Bloggs will find this project irresistible ;-)

We keep forgetting our no more reno promise to ourselves and accidentally start planning bathroom 3.

I still think this too when I see a forlorn mostly intact but neglected place. But like you - we've done our rescues. The last one was a few years ago. DH's health is no longer up to the task.
But he was just talking about a local one very near us the other day. We 'toured' it about 10'years ago when it was in good shape then abandoned. It is now covered in blackberries and hasn't been inhabited. He asked me to find out it's story in case he could take it on as a 'retirement project' as a flip.
Not the highest 'to do' on my list. <grin>
Edited to to add I think I've seen the Ridge Ave listing before, maybe from someone here - maybe from the back page of a rehab magazine? Looks very familiar - and just the thing we would have jumped on 20 years ago if in our area. - also have to add it reminds me of Mort's former avatar. ;)

Looks haunted! (pic from zillow)

Sigh! It's a beauty! You can just imagine how it will look fixed up.

Our minds still want to do those things (still a kid there) it is just the body that doesn't get with the program.

I would love to buy this place, not only am I hoping to have a Bed and Breakfast in the next few years. I am also a guy who loves to design haunted attractions. This would be the perfect Marriage of the two. I do wish it was on more land though... I don't have the know how to fix this place up, not to mention, I live in Washington state, but with some coin and a good contractor, we could totally make this work!

Pending sale. What a list price. At that price you could afford to put 100k into it
