Tourism agencies will should notify you if you are used in an article: #1 So you can share on social media as well, and #2 be aware they used you.
This is exciting you are featured.
I know how it is, I put the most amazing packaged together (and listed on the state site) and never got a hoot. I do know the eNews/eBlasts and blog topics are paid for most of the time. I found this out after winning a placement in a drawing for someone.
I work for another state "tourism" agency and they should realize helping me might be helping them. But they don't care or bother. Same situation as you I am sure.

Thank you. It means a lot to me to hear from you. I immediately sent a thank you e-mail to the person I think does the social media for Tourism. We have know each other for a long time. We just got a new Commissioner - I am watching to see what happens with this one. the previous was good even though I think it was political. O REALLY believe the new one is political - am giving her time to see what happens before I decide.
