Any forum folks in Mexico?
I was in Mexico for a couple of weeks visiting friends and family of friends. I visited Mexico City, San Miguel de Allende, Morelia, and Puerto Vallarta. While I was there, it dawned on me how much further my money would go in Mexico. Now I'm debating on buying an inn there or maybe a couple of couple of condos to rent out.
My current financing pre-approval is only good for the US. I reached out to a well known expat lender but the terms aren't awesome. Have any of you considered Mexico?

The only way I will leave West Virginia (permanently that is) is at room temp.

There used to be someone on the forum who was opening a B&B in Costa Rica, but I never heard how it worked out.

I just went to Costa Rica and stayed at a B&B there owned by an American woman and her Costa Rican husband. It was pretty wonderful. We have friends who moved permanently to CR about 6 years ago, after spending the 10 years prior looking at Mexico (they speak Spanish and have traveled extensively in Latin America). They found CR to be much more affordable, have better health care, and friendly to investors (those buying property). Get thee a reputable local lawyer, if you land outside the US, and check out the expat communities for pros and cons of the different areas.
