Easy come, easy go

Had a slew of new reservations last week. This week it's a slew of cancellations.

Lots of cancellations going on around here as well from what others are telling me.

Here - when the sun shines the phone rings. It's been so reliably rainy for such a long time - we've been really slow compared to last April. Most folks in our area had lawns a foot high up until the last few days - there just weren't any dry days to get the mowing done!
Just my opinion - but I do think the economy has picked up and people are out and about again. We have as many advance bookings for the summer as we had last year.
I don't think it will be another record breaker - due to our slow start, but I do think it will be a good season.

Not everyone has given reasons. But, it's amounted to 10 nights so far. Half of them for next week. Some are just shortening their stay, others cancelling altogether.

Not everyone has given reasons. But, it's amounted to 10 nights so far. Half of them for next week. Some are just shortening their stay, others cancelling altogether.

Well, at least the ones next week are on the hook for their deposit.

We have one nighter this weekend... taking it easy by doing other things like going on a sixteen hour round trip in three days....

Like ours, I assume your weather has been much cooler than normal and gray all week long. That is probably why you had so many cancellations. The trend changes down here on Tuesday, next week.....with temps climbing and,FINALLY, sunshine! Expect things to pick up once we get back to more May-like weather.

Must be something in the air, I've had 3 cancellations in the past 4 days. One gave me a long spiel about how her father was ill, sorry, not really interested. Your booking is cancelled and you've lost your deposit.
