Nothing is working out as it should... so I just want to go back on vacation.
The leak - The workmen just left today, finally. We managed with the guests and a little in discounting, but now it's back to normal, after we scrub, scrub and scrub.
The break-in - Did I mention that they tried to break in to our house while we were out. Got scared by my automated lights, so nothing was taken, but I had to fix the door to prevent it from happening ever again.
The neighbour - Complained that my security lights shine too much on her side. This is the same neighbour who is forever telling pork pies to everyone about me. I'm ignoring her request... being a good neighbour is a two way street.
The move - My mom moved yesterday... and I'm still dealing with those consequences.
The inheritance - Boxes, couches, chairs, pictures, dining room furniture. The worst of which is that we moved our hutch downstairs and put in her hutch... but they packed the shelves into her boxes, so I can't put anything back... because I don't have shelves. The new dining room table is longer, so I need a new pad for the table (so throw in more shopping). I did manage to put on new sliders on the chairs, though.
The gardener - My gardener can't come this year. Hired a new guy yesterday, but the ground is a little wet around here (Noah went by in a Kayak, earlier) and so we have to see if we can do it next week.
The digital revolution - Switched to all electronic locks, but going through batteries because the signal from the controller is weak (we have it set up centrally.) Still trying to figure out how to fix that. I have some repeaters on order. Tried to put in switches but house wiring is so old that there are no neutrals and these switches want neutrals.
The repairs - Other repairs to do in the house, of course, since it's summer, so workmen, quotes, etc.
The B&B violation - They booked a room even though the reservation system said it was CLOSED and aren't taking responsibility. I'm starting to get ANGRY because it's a long weekend and they booked two days and because they were closed, the price wasn't set properly. How do you NOT understand CLOSED to booking?
I want a vacation already.
