I currently work in an office and I bring the leftover baked goods to work with me. My floor mates love it.
But this morning, I was thinking, most innkeepers don't have a spouse who works in an office, so what do they do with the leftovers?
Bird food? Bread pudding? Trash? Share with the help?

I offer "care package" of muffns to the guests - for their day trip or for the trip home. They are usually quite pleased to get them. If they are turned down (or I forget to offer) I take them over to City Hall, the Volunteer Fire Dept if anyone is there, or if they are sugar-free I take them to the shop up the street where there are a couple ladies that can eat them but not the regular.
IF, as was the case Sunday, I have a lot of people who only eat part of their loaf of English Muffin bread and have a breakfast to do on Monday, I make bread pudding. I only use the centers and made peach bread pudding. They liked it. IF I make the Sour Cream Coffeecake, THAT leftovers goes right to my saddlebags (aka thighs) which is possibly why I make it so rarely.

LOL at sour cream cc. I like that one, too! Care package is a good idea.

Ha ha. Leftovers. Ha ha.
Ok, we don't make muffins any longer. But if there are leftover scones I freeze them for another day or put them out for snack.

If you have time and enough take them to local businesses that might be a place for referrals. Good way to get your name out. Never hurts to keep locals happy and it just costs you your time.

Baked items are 1 per person. We delivered a plated breakfast, so we don't have to worry about a guest taking more than their share. The 'leftovers' from the batch get frozen or heated up the next day if we have new guests. No waste here at all. If a baked item comes back with the breakfast dishes and obviously hasn't been touched, DH is thrilled because legally it's his.

Long ago when I was a teen two friends and I ate half a 9x13 by ourselves... we finished it off later that evening... GRIN! Only make it rarely.
Our leftover were first claimed as the dining room door swung shut to the public. Uncles, aunts, and friends finished off what we didn't want.
