Ooopps, never done that before. Couple staying for two nights, car disappeared so I went to make up the room.
Knocked on the door to be sure, no answer so I went in. Opened the curtains, replaced the vase, and was about to shake the duvet when I realised she's asleep in the bed.
Hasty retreat as quick as I could.

Sound sleeper! This is the kind of lesson that really "takes". You'll be checking that bed from now on.
Of course, she could also have been in the bathroom with the water running and would not have heard the knock on the door.
Lots of traps. Glad I don't go into a guests room until after they check out!

I hate when the guests split up like that and you don't know if they're gone or not!

Yup! I was refreshing a room with one of my helpers. Luckily, the helper heard the shower before the door went open. Now I check bathroom before I do anything else...

haha ... had a male guest slip back into his room while the chambermaid was making the bed - he had checked OUT but decided to use 'his' toilet. She had the guest room door open with all her supplies on a cart in the hallway just outside the door. Oh, the screaming when she walked in on him. He just shrugged it off. She was doing the screaming. He was down the stairs, out the door and driving away before I got it sorted out.

Our housekeeper did that this morning. Kind of ADD so no focus. Some days I get all the laundry from all the rooms in 5 minutes, other days it's hours.
Today, husband came in, said, 'here are the keys,' and went out. Instead of finishing room that was in progress, housekeeper grabbed the keys and raced to that room.
Next thing I hear is, 'oh! Sorry! I thought you were gone!'
Right. Wife still in bathroom.
Told housekeeper (for the millionth time) - wait till the car is gone from the parking lot!
