A little upset. Guest arrives for an extended stay. Number of guests is wrongish... but that's just for a day. But I go in to make the extra bed and my S3nsib0 is pulled off the wall with the paint underneath it. That's a LOT of pressure to exert to actually pull the paint off the wall at the same time.
I'm giving it until tomorrow for them to come clean about it. But I'm damn upset. You think you damage the wall within 2 hours of arrival that maybe you should come and see me and tell me about it, ask what you can do, etc?

S3nsib0?.
Smart AC controller :) I have the older model, which is round and white...

No excuse. Tug a little and it doesn't come off the wall, so double down and rip it off? No, adults do not do that. Let us know how this ends.

It does look a bit like a remote control but small tug doesn't come off - ask owner what to do

i hate to say you need a sign on it. because everything in a guest room or common area MUST be for guests to handle, right?
i wouldn't have known what it was but i wouldn't have tried to pull it off the wall and if i did that i'd be running to the innkeeper embarrassed as heck that i'd broken something and i'm sure i'd be having to pay for damage.

Well, they didn't say a single word about it. I can't fix the wall for the moment, so I stuck it back in place.
BTW... it was on the wall with a CONTACT strip... so if I needed to remove it, I could do so without damaging the wall. That's right, they pulled off a few layers of paint with a CONTACT strip.

And yet, we had a guy knock the shampoo dispenser off the wall and he came right down, handed it over, and asked how much he owed us!

I've had them knock them off before. Never charged... as long as they told us.

We told him not to worry and thanked him for telling us. He then mentioned he works at a hotel.
Usually they don't break, but this one cracked in half.

We had a lady broke the tooth brush cup above the sink, insisted on paying for a new when even though it was just a couple of pounds.
Had a single guy rip the shelf off the wall that has all the teas/coffee/cup&saucers/glasses and a pot plant. He came back from a wedding absolutely stottin' and still tried to claim it "just fell off" even though the spring raw plugs that held it onto the plasterboard wall were bent and one was even broken.

We have guests who manage to heavily stain towels and bed linen and no one ever says anything although we always managed to take it off. Apart from the one that they took off try to stick them with the unit or high up that's what I did as the infrared in my A/C's is weak so I have to stick them as close as possible.

Turned out that the guest thought it was a KNOB of some sort. I guess I have to label it as (DO NOT TOUCH, measurement device) or something like that.

Not much damage with our guests, but week ago, guest creamed a ceramic base nightstand lamp. Didn't mention before they left for the day, so we discover on room fluff. All pieces neatly picked up, stacked for disposal. He returns, says he's good for it. Lamp no longer made so need to buy a matching pair. DW had locate a reasonably priced replacement. Guest was expecting $600 (we look high class), but cost only $170 for the pair. He paid and I comped his couple bottle wine purchase. So, all good. Replacement is metal.
