Would love to see your pictures.
I enjoy seeing area photos of places I'm planning to go. This town is all about boats in summer.
So - here we are looking out at the harbor from the boat coming in just before the sun went down and a new drink for me, a lemon ginger martini.
I can't serve alcohol but I can direct you to the lovely bartender who makes these. :)

OOOH nice. I like boat rides.
Here is a photo from the percussion section about 6 PM on July 1 (we were to play at 8 PM) as we were getting ready to tune-up and sound check. Rain was expected - and came in 2 separate gully-washers - but with a 1 hour delay, a surprising number of people waited it out and stayed for the concert. We have had as many as 5000 for our concerts ( pop of Shinnston is just under 2300)

We launched my sailboat for the season on Monday and one of the tasks that has to be accomplished involves hauling somebody part way up the mast to string some lines called the "lazy jacks." My wife volunteers for the job. Once done, she said "take me to the top!" and took this picture. I am the guy in the light blue shirt in the center of the cockpit, our son is in the red in the back left corner of the boat (he's steering). One of our guests who is now also a good friend is on the left side of the boat, also in red.

The launching involves a tractor-trailer rig coming to our place to haul the boat out of our boat barn and take it to the ramp. It is quite a process loading the boat onto the special hydraulic trailer, and all our guests gathered around to watch.
We do our best ...
to entertain our guests!

I am fine. Rolling along. Guests are spaced out nicely - enough to pay the bills and still be able to do things - had a call from the road Friday for last night (I still went to the play with dinner in the Park for the Merry Wives of Windsor set in the 1950s). 2 rooms for 2 nights coming Tuesday which will cover August bills since I will be at a motorcycle event the last 4 days of July and then have a 3-day conference for the City for the first week of August. About 7 weeks until the Big Trip!
I made a venison meatloaf, mashed potatoes with sour cream & cheddar, and green beans. Trying to get people here to do whatthey do at Ravinia in Illinois This was my version:

Took a stroll to the landing that is part of the National Park we live in. Just. So. Peaceful!

Beautiful summer afternoon here, so we stuck the FOTF sign on the door and went for a beer or two at the inn on the beach, Loch Ness.
