Partial Solar Eclipse

I've been hearing about how apocalyptic some people think it will be in the path of the eclipse. Our library is having "eclipse parties" with solar telescopes and free eclipse glasses, and a televised stream from NASA, and we're over a hundred miles away from the path of totality.

I decided to offer a Partial Eclipse rate.  People can avoid the traffic and inflated motel prices.

Wonder if we'll have any takers (LOL)

Several innkeeper friends of mine in TN and SC tell me they were booked more than a year ago.

I saw where one place was having a eclipse party and someone asked, since that's the first day of school in their town, if they couldn't reschedule the eclipse for the weekend.

We're just south of the total eclipse line and are supposed to get a 96% eclipse here. Innkeep is north of the line and will get 91% eclipse. I know there are several innkeepers in the 100% category and yes, some of them have raised rates and sold all the rooms, with special festivities planned around it. Fun!

Not casting any aspersions. Just feel sort of left out.

Don't you badmouth inflated hotel prices. I've already raised mine for the total eclipse coming to my door in 2024
