Just had a call about Elopements. After I told her what it included and price, I told her to make the reservation online. She could not find the Elopement Package on the reservations. DUH - I had not done what was needed in the "behind the curtain" to make it show up. Possibly because I am now a bit older, I understood better what I needed to do and did it.
The lady booked her Elopement - for August 2018with an extra night!! AND Elopements require a 25% non-refundable deposit! Woohoo.

I've got a good spread of bookings for next summer already so I'm hopeful.
The last two summers have been crazy busy here with a shortage of rooms from May - Sept. I've put my prices up again for next summer, friends where a bit shocked when I told them how much but if the market will take it I'm going to take advantage.
When I see budget chain hotels 10 miles from here charging £147 for a basic room with no breakfast and I'm charging £95 I think something is wrong.

At least £50 wrong. Glad correction is in progress.

that's what makes me laugh round me - you will get a person asking about a good priced room say for a relative on our "mytown grumbler" facebook page about 25,000 members - straight away its "PI and TVlod" - they look at that and its like £157 - I always chime in and give B&B names and assure them of excellent quality and much better price!

I should know better than to get excited - been in this business long enough. When she told him she had booked, HE told her that he had booked a cruise. Sigh.

It's always something.
We had 3 rooms this weekend that want to come back next year, just needed to know when x event was taking place.
I already know they usually stay somewhere else. So, now they have the dates and they can contact the other place.

I have two-thirds of my rooms booked for the busiest weekend of the year.
