I have not really been excited about Christmas. The only reason I even decorated the stairs with a garland and lights is because a friend inveited me to go shopping with her and I bought a cuple strings of battery operated snowflake lights.
I was cooking supper tonight for a family in town who has baby in hospital and Mama up there with the baby. Already had the pork roasts in crock pots when he messaged me that the sister of the baby in the hospital (just found out he is the brother of the foster child (13 months old) that they just adopted and he will be also) is also sick and they do not want to expose me to that. Told him oK, what is your address and I will bring it over A little later his Mother who lives in another town called to ask if I could take it to them since he would not ask that. Told her I already was going to. She thanked me and told me he was so depressed - he was having to cancel Christmas because of everything that was happening. He just had nothing left to get presents. I got the kids names and ages.
Since all i have is books, I was on my way to the store in town to see what I could find. Drove past City Hall and the City Manager saw me and told me I needed to send out notice of an emergency Council meeting - she knew I would not have checked my City e-mail. Told her what was up - she knows them too. We got to be - as I told the Dad - those bloody do-gooder bastards who had been consulting with Santa.
I had Christmas!!!! And now, the couple coming in called to say they were going to be later than anticipated and said no, they had not had supper were going to grab something on the way over. Yippee! Do not do that as supper will be ready hen you arrive. I have someone to help me eat the second roast. I finally feel Christmas! told you folks I was blessed!
