Last weekend was the first weekend that we had 2 rooms rented at the same time.
This weekend, we got an AirBnB booking for one room this Friday, A second booking for the same room on Saturday but booked through our web site. And then another booking through our web site for the other room on Saturday. We only have the 2 rooms (for now).

It's so cool to see something you spent years building start to pay off!
 
Won't be long before you're looking forward to the days when you don't have any rooms booked.
 
After 22 years, I still get excited about a reservation. Probably because I am not in a tourist destination. I had to make me a destination.
 
Congrats! I still enjoy waking up in the morning to find reservations made in the evening :)
 
Good for you! Remember this feeling for the times you wish you were empty, lol. No really. We’re into year five. DH is visiting his daughter and helping her paint her new condo while I’m at hone doing some of that to our apartment. I’ve been closed for a week now and will be for one more while he’s away and it felt so good to turn a room request down for the weekend. In the beginning I never would have. Now, it’s not the end of the world. But I still love what I do. Hope you always will too.
 
Things are looking up on the WV front. Today I got a 5 days per week for 4 weeks at my corporate rate with no breakfast and another rez for a going & coming 1-night each wat because I have a charger for a Bolt.
PLUS I had a call to do a feature on us for the newspaper in the City north of us and she is coming Monday. SO I have the weekend to get the crap out of the old office so it looks like nice guest area. My friend will come over to move the heavy tubs of papers into the eventual living room - personal area I can keep the door closed on until I get things sorted, ALL the crap is moving into there for now. One way to get motivated! The long term arrives Monday - he is night shift so we are perfect. I know what it is to try to sleep in a day shift world so he will have quiet and I will have dollars.

Last year - due to all that happened with my brother dying & me settling his estate during which time my husband decided it was time to die, his Memorial Service, and then my trip to Finland - my revenues were barely enough to cover the taxes and insurance. This year HAS to be better.
Since I opened in 1996, a conservative estimate of over 2000 hotel rooms have been built in my corridor of the Interstate (WVU went from Big East to Big 12 and hotels blossomed). Also Air has come into the area in a big way. I do not, and will not, go the OTA route. If the next innkeeper here chooses to do so, it will be their choice.
