Wonderful article! I wish they'd included photos of your renovations & breakfasts instead of just describing them. 

do you really have chamber pots for guests? Or was the reporter just trying to emphasize the quaint nature of your B&B?

Our first 10 years we had 3 with shared facilitries so we had chamber pots in every room as "emergency facilities" which is how we put it to the guests. I still have them in the rooms but we now only havve 2 rooms sharing a bathroom. One room has an en suite bathroom.

It was one of the ways I got a chuckle out of a prospective guest when ensuring they were aware it was 3 with shared. The first chuckle came from telling them that we knew it was a disappointment to many, but no streakers were allowed and we had robes in the closets. 9 times out of 10, I got the reservation.
