Thank you for Voting - I lost

The winners were announced today - and I was NOT one of them. Rhode Island was not even given a winner. Some states were given 3 winners. The winners were a sign language interpreting company and a magazine publisher with 4 magazine about West Virginia (with ads too expensive for me to advertise there). Thank you everyone who voted for me - I did win the voting phase and did not buy one vote (apparently there were several who think there were paid for votes). My friend is very upset that I did not win and wants to file a protest - I told her not to, it is not worth getting shorts in a knot for. It was their contest and their decisions as to who would win. I thought you had it!!! What a disappointment!

I won the voting portion which I thought carried weight. The 2 that won did not even come close with votes. WHAT they judged on I hav eno idea. If it was community involvement, the magazine covers many towns, cities, and attractions for content for their magazine each month. It tool me 3 years to get them to do even a small article on Shinnston, they did not even do a feature article on us - and in that time period Shinnston was considered a "rising star" as we were always leading the way with a lot of things other cities copied.
Whatever. I gave it my best shot and appreciate all the help I was given.

I personally don't like contests that count votes but also have judging that overrides the votes.

I agree with seashanty, you win with those of us who have had the pleasure of knowing you.
Is it worth protesting, well probably not, but then if "voting" didn't count towards "winning" it would seem the main purpose of voting was to promote their organization and advertise their "contest".
Hopefully we also promoted Gillum House as well and you win some business as a result.
